how did you first get into gorillaz? your artstyle influence from it is so incredibly good and such a breath of fresh air <3

aaa that’s very sweet of you, i rly appreciate it ;v; i do take a few cues from james’ art (as do we all) but i’ve def gone into my own style more as time goes on…

it’s a funny little story…i sort of danced around getting into gorillaz for many years because i had the feeling i would rly like it ;; which may seem counterintuitive but i had this thing where i denied myself things i wanted for a long time (trauma lol)

i liked the few songs i heard on the radio when i was a kid but i didn’t know who did em, or that they were the same band…later i saw some gifs on tumblr when plastic beach was out and i was like!! wow this is so pretty animation insp…and then i forgot about it again untiiiil

hallelujah money mv!! which i watched and rly loved and then. i forgot about it again untiiiiil

the now now!!! i was very depressed and needed any distraction and i saw they had a new album and i was like fuck it and i played it and it happened to be. the ‘2d has ptsd’ album so i fell in love instantly

and then. i put the two together. the music and visuals were one in the same. plus ace was there and as a lifelong cartoon fan i was like…wow this is everything i ever wanted. my autistic ass would be forever changed. that’s the saga :)
