I had this blog for a whole year with maybe 20 followers. then last year, one post got popular, and the number just kept...going up?

honestly I’m still not really sure what I’m doing here, but I’m glad I’m here hanging out with y’all and making weird music, because your comments/replies give me life. <3 I have never received so much love and hatred all at once, and it’s a delight

Do you have any tips on how to run / play monsterhearts? Unfortunately my only tabletop experience is with D&D, I tried looking up stuff but I thought maybe you might have advice!

listen to your players

fling a lot of sex spaghetti on the wall and see what sticks with your players to complicate their lives

encourage as much interjection of their imaginations into the world as you can (doing the classroom exercise they talk about in the monsterhearts 2 book is really useful! basically letting your players name characters, decide what they’re like, etc gets everyone into the Teen Drama headspace)

as the DM, its nice to get deeper into RPing to help people get in character! im always ready to make myself a goof and improv a bit to let people relax into the story

with monsterhearts specifically, as the DM, respect boundaries for romance and flirtation - its a game all about budding sexuality so its interesting to see how players use sex to get what they want

try filling out this RPG consent form with everyone if you arent sure how far to go!

i put on a bunch of 1995 pop music to help us get into the zone lmao

honestly the monsterhearts 2 pdf has a lot of advise so ive read thru it a few times! hope this helped!

Hello, fellow midwesterner! We have an issue here with lesser celandine (in Northern IL. It’s invasive and takes over), I’ve looked up info on it and (like other buttercup family plants) it’s mildly toxic, but supposedly is edible when cooked. I was wondering if it’s also a problem where you live, and if so, how you deal with it.

I was rereading NS while quarantined and I just want to say I love how much personality each magician’s magic has!

it’s something i wish i’d like Committed to early on but also i barely knew how i wanted to draw magic at all those days

Sorry if you submitted this a while ago, I just now saw this!  Thank you so much for your kind words, I try my best to represent our community well!  As for your question, I was really unorganized when I first started doing stats, mostly because I thought I would post one or two and then be done with it lol, so I ended up rewatching FH probably 10+ times around then?? FHSY I’ve seen a lot less times, mainly because people started helping me with those stats, so I’ve probably seen that 2 or 3 times all the way through, but certain episodes(The Friendship Section) many more!

How common are beet poots/ beet poot friends??

Fairly rare in the US, if you’re in the UK just go to the nearest antique store.  We’ve seen a couple from other parts of Europe submitted.
