Yesterday we visited a seal museum, and stopped at a few other points of interest on our way to one of their recommended seal watching areas. The last photo is actually a basalt rock formation called Hvítserkur. There were no seals when we arrived, so at least we got to look at another col rock! A typical sight in Iceland.

The top photos are from Borgarvirki, the highest elevation in the area, and another basalt rock formation. Part natural and also built up by humans, used by vikings and people in earlier centuries as a fortress. The inside of it really was a nice barrier from the wind! The view was good too, and we got lucky that the skies were pretty blue at the time. The weather changes quickly in Iceland, a phenomenon that isn’t too foreign to us!
