FOCUSING ON : Existing Art inspired by Emotion
Beth Cavener is a sculptor who focuses her work on psychology. She articulates emotion through animal and human forms.
“I use animals to portray something intensely human”
In the video Beth tells us she uses human body parts and hybridizes them with animal body parts. I feel the reason for this may be because she does not want us to forget what we are really looking at here, which is the whole meaning beneath the sculptures and what human emotion it portrayed through them, giving the sculpture a metaphoric twist.
I really like how she uses human emotions as a convergence to create these sculptures, embodying the meaning of human fear, aggression and misunderstanding together.

I am always fascinated by the inner lives of artists as well as everyday people. Loved this short video.
