Original Baseball Oil Paintings. Both roughly 20x26.

The first is based off of the famous photo of Ty Cobb sliding into third base during the 1909 World Series while Honus Wagner tags him out. The painter, an otherwise unidentified Mr. or Ms. J. Cox, chose to add a "5" to Cobb's back, though it would be nearly two decades before players would begin wearing numbers on the backs of their uniforms.

The second is a little harder to peg. The background looks an awful lot like the short porch of the Polo Grounds curving into 258 feet in right field. The player looks to be receiving a throw from the outfield, but doesn't seem to be wearing catcher's gear (either way, he's got an infielder's mitt on.  Anyone who has any more information on these paintings would be much appreciated. I've tried with no luck to find the artist for a few years now. Found in a North Carolina Goodwill for $20 a piece.

Fenway Park

  Boston’s Fenway Park™ is an example of history in the making – it is one of the ultimate shrines of baseball. Fenway Park, the oldestMajor League™ ballpark, opened in 1912. The towering Green Monster&153: looms over a short left field.

I hope the final result captures the energy of the moment. Though there is nothing like being there in person, hopefully my Fenway Park can remind many baseball fans of the historic 2007World Series.

  Yankee Stadium

In 2008, Yankee Stadium, the greatest cathedral to the game of baseball, has closed its doors forever. I could not let such a historic moment pass without honoring it in my way. This is the original Yankee Stadium - the house that Ruth built.

Because this is a distant view, you can people the field with Yankee heroes of your choosing. Could that be Lou Gehrig on first base? Babe Ruth in right field? Joe DiMaggio patrolling center? For eighty-five years, some of the greatest players in the game have calledYankee Stadium home.

  San Francisco Giants, It’s Our Time!

Destiny is a term too often bantered about cheaply.
