Tuah stood by the window with his arms crossed, eyes unfocused as he was deep in thought. The verification process to enter Nova Pangaea took longer than he had expected, and still he wasn’t allowed to enter the city without going through this programme specified for vampires. Vampire Social Programme, they called it. He had to participate for a month before they deemed he was safe enough to join their society. There were no strings that either himself or his grandsire could pull to shorten the process as well, which irked his grandsire to no end since she prided in having her hands in so many pies, she called it. He didn’t ask her to do such a thing, mind. She simply did it out of her own volition so he’d be more indebted to her.
He didn’t particularly mind, since he understood their reasoning for implementing such precautions. His kind wasn’t particularly known for being on the pacifist side in known history, after all. Besides, patience was one of his greatest virtues, so waiting for these things to sort itself out was trivial for him. especially when the promising reward was very tantalising.
The daylight charm.
Tuah curled his fingers into a fist, eyes closed and lips pressed into a thin line as he clenched his jaw before slowly exhaling the unintended inhaled air. He was so close to his goal that he could almost imagine the way sunlight would feel against his skin. Not deadly enough that it would burn him, but merely a gentle warmth that would envelope him like a lover’s embrace. As someone who was born in a tropical country, he had missed the sun’s warmth terribly. And now, the day where he would stand underneath the sun without fear would arrive soon.
He heard the door being opened, and Tuah turned towards the newcomer with a polite smile decorating his lips. “Mr. Fonte,” he greeted his benefactor, making sure his posture seemed relaxed to the other, “I’ll be in your care once more.”
