“Oh! Geez... uhh, sorry! Sorry!” Sam immediately retreated back out of the doorway and into the hallway. “Your door was open!” he said from just outside.
You wandered over to stand in the doorframe, still wrapped in just your towel, fresh out of the shower. “I know,” you said, laughing at his awkwardness. “I’m not naked, Sam. It’s okay,” you said, raising an eyebrow at him. “What did you need?”
His back was to you and you could see that his broad shoulders were a bit hunched in his apparent bashfulness. “Umm, I was just going to ask if you had, uhh--have you gotten around to--”
You interrupted him with more laughter as he spoke to you over his shoulder. “Sam, you can look at me. Would you turn around?” He hesitantly turned toward you and you could see that there was a blush in his cheeks. He gulped at a nervous lump in his throat and managed an uncomfortable laugh.
“Yeah... Yeah. I know. It’s just, uhh--I wasn’t expecting... uhh,” he interrupted himself again with a nervous chuckle. “I’ll just talk to you when you’re--later. I’ll be in the library,” he said. He managed to flash you an awkward smile, trying his hardest to ignore the droplets of water finding their way down your chest from your collarbone. “Sorry,” he stuttered again, and he was gone, rushing down the hallway. You watched him disappear, a little bewildered, and still smirking to yourself at his embarrassment.
