@bashfulgnome Now I’m picturing Felix being able to totally stabilize his head like a chicken (a skill barely related to what we’re discussing but I’m picturing it anyhow)

I saw your adorable Vanellope and Calhoun - can you do Felix in C2 for the emotion meme?
You bet!!
“Well that’s... that’s mighty nice of you...!”
Another Emotion Meme
Welcome back! I love this blog and I missed seeing posts here!
Hey there! It’s been a while since people submitted HCs too! There should be a WIR resurgence!
Happy Birthday Ashley! 🎉🎂🎊 I hope you have an awesome day and a lot of nice surprises!
Thank you so much, BG! 💗😊
bashfulgnome replied to your photo “they put a big ralph out by the rbti playground at epcot and now I’m...”
I heard they made Ralph the mascot of DisneyQuest and put a statue of him outside it starting in 2012-ish. Since DQ shut down, I wonder if this is that statue? Not a Disney person so I don't know if I'm just confused here
that’s definitely possible! although i am a disney person now, disneyquest actually closed a month before i moved here and i never got to go there, so i’m not sure if it’s the same statue or not. but it makes sense that they would reuse it
Since Felix is a sturdy little guy with powerful legs (and steel-toed shoes) and Tamora is an amazon in general, I'm imagining her picking him up by his belt or armpits and swinging his legs at an enemy like an adorable flail
I feel like that would be a snap decision that, thank god, somehow works (otherwise the scene would be reminiscent of robert pattinson beating the shit out of a seagull in The Lighthouse)
Tammy: -puts him down- Sorry, impulse decision
Felix: -dial tone as his astral form has been helicoptered into next week-
I guess that’s a pretty valid way of interpreting “going Turbo.” One could guess that it only qualifies if the person causes a game other than their own to be unplugged for selfish reasons. But then, what words do they have to describe someone doing that to their own game?
I feel like “going Turbo” is often defined by only one half of what he did. He went into another game and got it unplugged, but he also, as Felix so gravely puts it, “abandoned his game”. A big part of what he did was shirking his own responsibilities and disobeying the program that kept his game protected. Which is what Vanellope did. So, even if the arcade wouldn’t unanimously compare her to Turbo, I think the majority would argue for it, even just from how highly they value the program. (Which Ralph and Vani would have too, esp Ralph who already almost got his game and Sugar Rush unplugged from his self-interested pursuits in the first movie, BUT to RBTI the first movie doesn’t even exist SO. It’s hard to compare anything from the first with the second)
And while she didn’t try to take over someone else’s game, and Sugar Rush was ultimately not unplugged, she also did technically endanger her own game and go join another, just assuming that the mess she made would be neatly put back together and her disappearing wouldn’t be a problem. Yeah, she’s just one of many racers, but it’s a pretty dangerous assumption to make when if you’re wrong, the entire population of that game will be homeless (or all crammed into one tiny apartment where they can’t race and have no purpose in life anymore). The other racers may have been mean to her before, but they were all under Turbo’s control and… “code washing” yknow. They’re just kids like Vani and didn’t deserve to be abandoned so carelessly.
So I guess what I’m saying is that in Felix’s retelling of Turbo’s tale, he says “he abandoned his game and tried to take over the new one,” and while Vani peacefully joined Slaughter Race and therefore didn’t do the second half of that statement, she did the first half in near catastrophic scale. Which has got to carry some weight. Again, I think saying she didn’t go Turbo just comes down to oversimplifying and not looking at the whole story. She did half of what Turbo did, which I think should have canonically been viewed as a serious crime. And the comparison to Turbo should have come up in the movie, even if it was just Ralph trying to reassure her that she wasn’t like him. I think the arcade calling her a criminal would also have made her decision to leave permanently more fair.
Thank you for giving me this ramble fodder. Meme of the philosophers talking goes here
