recent oc thoughts for my hero of kvatch mantling sheo is the concept of Sheogorath making him effectively immortal but in the messiest way possible so that he can stop the greymarch without dying (permanently) in the process. thinking of something akin to the Ascended Immortals of Paradise and the Mazken and Aureals with their Wellsprings, but add an extra layer of body horror because the isles themselves are his wellspring.
although im still debating whether i want his body to regenerate where he falls or if he should regenerate in the pools of madness below the palace. i feel its possible to (and i probably will) do both, depending on severity of the damage. perhaps being in the pools themselves speeds up the process.
anyway all these thoughts inspired me to write a rough scene exploring this concept in which Sheogorath tests the success of his work binding Ambrosius to Himself and the Isles. BIG WARNING for body horror, descriptions of injury and some gore, emeto, falling from heights and the results of the impact.
Before I can attest, he snaps his fingers and he's gone from me in a blink. I’m among the clouds, looking down on everything that moments ago I once was a part of, and in a fraction of a sense, still am. The ocean on the horizon sparkles with pinks and purples as if it’s an extension of the sky it reflects, and I wonder if somewhere over the distant horizon the two do meet as one, knowing full well that I know the answer, because I have been them. I am so small compared to all of this that it’s difficult to fathom how I could have been and could be connected to all of it. For a moment I’m still. It would be altogether beautiful if terror didn’t grip me with the knowledge of what is to follow.
