Place des Quatre Marmoins. Mais qui sont les marmoins (ou marmousets)  ? Au Moyen-Age, il était de coutume de sculpter un bas-relief au dessus de la porte d'entrée des maisons. Fréquemment, cette sculpture représentait une caricature plus ou moins grimaçante du voisin. Ce bas-relief représente quatre têtes pas très flatteuses et la légende raconte que les deux maisons en face de cette plaque étaient habitées par des collecteurs d'impôts. À vous d'en déduire ce que vous voulez !

Immortal kiss is what I'm calling it. I'm happy with how it turned out. I was moved by an image: an X-ray of a kiss. I thought it was beautiful because you could see the intent in the bones. I wanted to capture some small part of it and make it immortal. Love fades, lust is fleeting, but some things are strong enough to create an eternal pull. Well, that was easy. Was looking for appropriate Art Deco to post & I was already editing photos of the Superman Building in Providence, Rhode Island. Some typical sterilized versions of Pilgrims/Puritans coming to the new world & bringing their special flavor of repression that still taints this land.
