Thanks! We're still talking and I have no clue if he's joking about this but apparently we've agreed that if he teaches me about cars and chemistry, I'll teach him how to make out and boost his experience. So I hope this thing works out, bc it's the first time I liked a guy not based on his looks
Ahhh! I'm so excited for you! I really hope this works out for you and you'll definitely have to keep me updated on how things go because that's really exciting. :D I ship you guys already.
So my crush is in the same philosophy class as I am and we've been texting since 10 (so 13 hours) and he's honestly the nicest guy I've talked to- he knows how to treat girls/morals even though he's inexperienced in the intimacy. But, we've both discussed how we don't have time for relationships, and since he isn't the richest, he doesn't date bc he can't afford it. And it makes me a bit sad bc talking to him I see how much he wants a girl and it's like "I'm here" but he doesn't believe me
It sounds like you two are both into each other! People usually have a harder time keeping a conversation going through text because the conversation can just end without any awkwardness so that's good! And I know you say you don't have time for a relationship but trust me if the other person is worth it you can easily make time. I would just keep talking to him, let things progress how they're supposed to. He'll believe you when he realizes you really are there. Maybe convince him to hang out with you and go and do stuff together and show that you can pay for yourself and stuff and he'll see that money isn't a huge factor in the equation. I'm glad you talked to me about it though I wish you the best of luck with him!! He sounds like a very unique person.
sleepover saturday!
bastardstarks replied to your post:I think it’s really fucking stupid that I have...
Look at what histories you have learned have in common. THEY’RE ALL WHITE, COINCIDENCE? PFFT YEAH RIGHT. (The most I have are african american studies and art history: asian edition)
Yeah that's absolutely the thing.
And that actually reminds me of another thing, I took an art history class which was taught somewhere along the lines of the AP curriculum, and according to those guidelines (which apply to an art history course on the whole world) i think that about 20/30% was allotted to non european art. And the teacher knew this and talked about it not being right on more than a few occasions but like that was the required curriculum so there we were talking about every statue ever created in rome and every painting in the louvre and maybe like 3 things in total from asia i just didn't get it
(As an American) it seems that once you come to the US you're expected to toss your culture ("whitewashing") and be totally ok with someone else appropriating it bc you disassociated yourself from your culture, like it's a consequence for coming here
I guess that would be something America would have to inherently change (and it is happening, just really slowly) Having never lived there, I know what it’s like to be a foreigner in a different country and it is a lot different to the stories I hear on tumblr. I mean racism is still there, but not so rampant or open as tumblr makes it seem. And I have traveled a lot and lived in 4-5 different countries.
My actual problem is that people here, especially the young and malleable kind, are basically just assuming that the whole world is like America and every foreigner in every country feels the exact same way as they do. They aren’t capable of picturing people on a global scale and understanding that different countries have different perspectives and experiences.
And the worst part is that if you even are a PoC with a genuine desire to share your culture with people and not seeing the big deal out of a lot of petty arguments and being logical, these angry extremists accuse us of being “whitewashed” or brainwashed or posing as a PoC which is so fucking bullshit.
People with differing opinions aren’t heard and even worse, insulted so much that the correct and mature responses are all hidden, making the whole social justice endeavor filled with screaming, bloodthirsty teenagers instead of adults talking about real problems with pros and cons and possible solutions.
Hi my name's Jessi and my birthday is February 29 (or 28, so I don't feel left out) and can I be Jon Snow?
You sureeee can! You have been added. c:
birthdays and families.
If I met you in real life, I'd take you on a cross country road trip to every national park and we'd go hiking and camping (and whatever else white people do), go visit all these cities, and then sex tbh. But adventures first
omg this one made my night that sounds absolutely wonderful and i am 100% down
bastardstarks replied to your post:Turns out decaf coffee doesn’t make my gut feel...
Don’t buy maxwell house or Folger’s decaf, it tastes straight up odd
That is good to know because that's basically what my grocery sells :x I guess I'll go find some fancy place to get good beans at
