Sihyun moves around the kitchen, pots and pans strewn around along with plates and knives and forks as he prepares dinner for both him and Bastien. The other is sitting out in the living room and before long Sihyun takes both plates of food out where they’re sitting, choosing instead to eat in the living room so they could watch the movie Bastien had picked. He’d invited his friend for a sleepover because they hadn’t seen each other in a while and Sihyun hated not seeing any of his friends often. And so he’d thought a nice dinner and a movie paired up with some of his favorite wine might be nice for the both of them. “I hope you like stir-fry,” Sihyun says as he settles the plates and utensils down on the table in front of them. “So have you picked a movie?” Sihyun asks, settling down on the couch and opening the bottle of wine he’d brought out earlier, filling both of their glasses.

bastien. young and angry and bruised and his heart full of a love so bright, so brutal it unfurls at his sleeve, spurs his sword, fighting his way through every duel for her hand. every duel for her honor. his wounds, a knife to her chest. 

“you must stop this foolishness”, she says, hand pressed at a mangled cut on the slope of his cheek (he turns, pushes the heat of his lips at her palms. nearly, she withers. eyes hard and full and tired;; burning with desire, for she can look at him no other way). he smiles as he bleeds, slow, crinkled, wide, a promise of everything. (in another world they are perfect)  the warmth of it filling her limbs with lead with poison.   “marry me, marry me then." he says, always, always, heart on the golden facade of his sleeve, tender as a lamb, she kisses him and he lets her musk drift over him, eyes open, smiling at the corner of her mouth and plunges on, in the place that it hurts, in the soft space between them, just enough to fill the air between them, enough to smother her in his affection, "a life without you is inconceivable, vivienne i love you-------- now, it is not enough, maybe it will never be but i shall die before i shall stay my blade, my breath, i am yours and i love you.”   (even knelt. on his swollen knees. it is not enough.)
