No such thing as safe/edible glitter

Just a quick message to remind people who are buying last minute gifts not to buy bath kits or food kits that contain so called environmentally safe or edible glitter. 

Neither exist. Most ‘environmentally safe’ actually means that if you live somewhere that will recycle paper products with glitter, you can, and ones that say it can go down the sink are lying (unless its sugar glitter, which isn’t technically glitter). It has awful effects on marine wild life.

Edible glitter is harmless normally, but not digestible, it just passes through your system. Yes, gross, but that’s what happen. What they won’t say is that in very rare cases the fine glittery powder, once ingested, can cause problems for very young children with sensitive stomachs and those with gut conditions.

I have researched, but If anything I’ve said is wrong or inaccurate please let me know or add to the post.

Please sop carefully when buying last minute gifts for family and friends.
