Very Berry Strawberry Puree CP Soap – US
Very Berry Strawberry Puree CP Soap – Metric
By weight unless otherwise stated
10 oz Black Raspberry oil
10 oz Blueberry oil
10 oz Red Raspberry oil
12 oz Sunflower oil
8 oz Coconut oil 76°
5 oz Palm oil
17 oz Distilled water, by volume
3 oz Strawberry puree or juice
7.44 oz Sodium hydroxide (lye)
3 oz Strawberry fragrance
1.5 tsp Pink mica, by volume
2 tsp White pearl mica, by volume
1/4 cup Strawberry seeds, by volume
Follow all proper safety guidelines for making cold process soap.
Remove the tops of 1/2 cup fresh strawberries. Puree strawberries with a splash of distilled water in a blender or food processor. NOTE: There must be NO lumps of strawberry left. Lumps of fruit in your soap will mold. Measure 3 oz of puree and set aside.
Measure fragrance, white mica, and strawberry seeds and set each aside. Measure pink mica and blend with 2 tsp of one of the oils working out clumps with a mini-mixer.
Carefully add lye to water, stir until the lye is fully dissolved, and cool to 100ºF or cooler. Melt and blend the oils and cool to about 100ºF. Once the lye water and oils have cooled, add the lye water to the oils and stick blend to thin trace. Add fragrance, pink colorant, and seeds to soap mixture and blend.
Pour soap into mold. Add texture to soap top, if desired. Sprinkle white mica on soap surface. Allow to set at least 24 hours. Remove from mold and cure for 4-6 weeks.
