hi! i saw a post that addressed how butch/gnc and intersex (cis) women gets harassed in bathrooms cause they're mistaken for men and that the terf rhetoric directly contributes to that and then i saw a terf say that they get harassed not because of transphobia but because of homophobia and misogyny. homophobia? could be idk, but misogyny makes NO sense? like... you think this person is a man... where does misogyny play any part in that? if you think that this person is a man or (mostly) trans, that's transphobia/misandry. misogyny would be if you thought that person was a woman and harassed her on the basis of her being a woman. but clearly that's not the case? they're so incredibly stupid.

I can see why they would say misogyny has something to do with that bc the idea that woman = femininity, ergo masc looking person = man does stem from misogyny.

And it deffo isn’t misandry. 

But yeah it’s for sure transphobia also. They’re just in denial that transphobia exists.

And they don’t realize that they are literally contributing to their own harassment by spreading the whole ‘male predator invading women’s bathrooms’ idea.

If everyone minded their own business and didn’t fearmonger about ‘men coming into the women’s bathroom’, no one would get harrassed. 

And they literally harrass people in the bathroom themselves fhewirgewr and they contribute to the whole ‘woman = feminine person’ thing. Just stereotypically feminine in features more than clothing.
