Ready for some rasslin. Batocera rufomaculata. The very large Mango Stem Borer. Found on St. Croix where it is obviously introduced from what would appear to be the Indian subcontinent and/or Southeast Asia. Lovely beetle. Photo by Grace Schilling and Orr Uzan-Tidhar.

Ohhhhhh big friend! Very jealous, would love to own and admire this fellow. When in doubt with these mass-produced dead bugs in resin, check species in Southeast Asia. I’ve never found one that didn’t originate from there tbh. This one looks like Batocera lineolata, but could be another similar Batocera species.

Tried running Batocera on my knock off Surface tablet with an Atom processor. Tried several versions, even the Atom specific one but it kept locking up. :/
