A 1946 proposed hangarkryssare (roughly translates to hanger cruiser) for the Swedish Navy by one of the Swedish shipbuilders. It is unique as it has two triple 15 cm (6 in) turrets that could be retracted into the flight deck.

From what I can find, the swedish Navy was trying to reestablish its Naval Aviation after it was absorbed into the Swedish Air Force in the 1920s and part of the build up during WWII. This would have been a coastal defense ship rather than a true blue water vessel. During the 1940s, propeller aircraft, and later jets, had a limited range and this vessel would have allowed the armed forces to meet an invasion before landfall or be a mobile airfield.

Obviously nothing came of this or any of the proposed Aircraft Carrier designs.

from /r/vexillology Top comment: I like the design, though typically you would want to avoid laying yellow on white. It creates a visibility issue due to the low contrast between the colors, and that only gets accentuated when seen at a distance. It comes from heraldry, where it was called the "rule of tincture". I get why you did it though, because the Vatican City flag uses those colors. That flag has them side-by-side though, and the charge on the fly side is outlined to set it apart from the field. Maybe if you did some fimbriation on the charges or the cross in black? I do really like the design though.

EDF Flandre (battlecarrier)

After Flandre was nearly destroyed by enemy ordnance exploding in her upper hanger, she was handed back to the EDF. Unimpressed with her condition (and several of the modification mades by Garmillas) preparations were made to scrap her. However a second look revealed that while the upper hanger and light deck was totalled, the lower hanger and engine were structurally intact. Following this was it was decided to rebuild Flandre as a Gevlades style battlecarrier, partly to reuse the lower hanger and party to test the design. when her rebuilt was compete Flandre’s offensive firepower was drastically boosted, with 8 14-inch guns, 14 12-guns, and 8 5-inch guns, as well as a new VLS funnel and more up to date AA systems. However, this this came at the price of a significant amount of  what was the lower hanger. During trials her designers concluded that while the Gevades style was a viable design, Flandre’s narrow BBY-01 hull was too small to for such a design to be effective.
