1. Alice: “NOT THE FUCKING TIME!”
2. Iain: “Wh-now? I mean–I guess? No, wait, that’s a yes to the marriage proposal! Not an ‘I guess.’ Just–watch out–yes! That’s a yes!”
3. Charleston: There’s a pause where the hulking, partially transformed werewolf turns towards you. The elongated muzzle isn’t meant for speech, but you swear there’s a nod from the bloody muzzle before he’s disappeared into the thick of battle once more.
4. Stephanie: “... I’m not saying no but I would like a nice proposal. You know, one where blood isn’t part of the dress code.”
5. Zaria: She doesn’t see the first time you do the sign, and to be fair, it’s not really the best time or place to be asking her. When she does see, one eyebrow raises, and she shakes her head in disbelief. Then she refocuses on the battle, her current priority. Maybe it would help if you asked with a ring, and when she’s not focused on trying to confuse the enemy.
6. Michael: “What?” He’s standing there, staring at you completely dumbfounded. You have to drag him out of the line of fire as he continues gaping at you. Doesn’t appear you’ll be getting a coherent answer anytime soon.
7. Ramiel: It takes him a moment to process your words, but when he does, he starts to laugh. “Only you!” he exclaims, pushing an opponent back. “Let’s do it!”
8. Sabriel: Fair warning, you’ve not gotten to see Sabriel in a fight but you have to understand that her Angel Blade is an extremely offensive choice for an angel and also requires her to get in the thick of it. Getting her attention is nigh impossible, and when you do, you worry for a moment she’s mistaken you for an enemy. “Introducing you to movies might have been a mistake,” she finally says. “But why the hell not?”
9. Tom: The sleek wolf’s ears turn towards you, and his tail wags slightly. Well, that could be a yes, or it could be a twitch. You suppose you’ll have to find out when he’s shifted back.
10. Karyn: “Are you kidding me? You’re not, are you? Can we please focus on not dying first? I’ll marry you on Mars if we survive this!”
11. Leo: He stops, his head turning, eyes wide. “You mean it?” Upon your confirmation, he smiles. “Anytime, anyplace. Including now!”
12. Tadea: She pushes a strand of hair out of her face, casting luminous golden eyes on you. While mostly human, her nails are more like claws and her teeth are too large and sharp for her human mouth. “God I love you. Of course I’ll marry you.”
13. Iro: Her lips curl. “Well, points for novelty. First time I’ve been proposed in the middle of battle. I suppose I can make do.”
14. Aelius: He looks hurt by you proposal, his lips turned down and his eyes lowered. “Can we focus on making it through this first?” he asks. It sounds oddly like a refusal without outright saying no.
15. Ryder: He lights up. “A proposal while we stand on the corpses of our enemies? How could I refuse when you know me so well,” he purrs, dispatching someone else with a casual flick of his wrist.
