He’d reacted instantly.  Probably before they’d even made a conscious decision that Alice would see.  But the strangers were aggressive.  Angry enough that he doubted they would listen to reason.  Listen to the truth that neither of them wanted to take any human prey.  Jasper had sprung before he’d even really thought about it.  Wrapped legs around a neck, wrenched head off and used the surprise of the last one standing to take them off guard.  It had been easy.  Like breathing.  But she’s staring at him and he isn’t sure if she’s afraid or if he is.   His movements now are slow, not looking at her as he snatches branches from trees.  Everything is so much wetter here.  So hard to light it might take him a few precious matches.  “Because I can protect myself just fine.  And if I can’t...then that’s on me and no one else should have that burden.”

                 tears  stream  down  her  flushed  cheeks  as  she  remains  frozen  at  the  front  door,   the  desperation  in  his  voice  telling  her  to  stay   was  only  breaking  her  heart  further.   she  knew  things  between  them  were  different  compared  to  others,  but  the  secrets  and  late  nights  were  becoming  too  much.  her  mind  often  went  to  the  most  terrible  thoughts  of  what  he  could  be  doing.     " Tell  me  what  you  were  doing  tonight  and  I'll  stay. "      she  knows  he  can't,   he  has  refused  to  all  the  previous  times   she's  questioned  him.

His teeth snap together as he made the quick decision to change his words.  And actions as much as he would love to have snapped Edward’s neck in the moment.  “No-no-no, no.  You do not get thanks for fixing the problem you caused.  You decided not to turn her early.  You fell in love with a human.  You didn’t think about the consequences.  You do not get my thanks for chasing off my ex after your decisions brought her here.  The Volturi can relatively be reasoned with.  She would kill your kid with no hesitation, no questions asked and-” he’s run out of breath.   “Y’know how you can fix this?  Find us a new place to live.  Immediately.  I’m not staying here if they all know were we live.  We’re officially on the Volturi’s radar because of you.  It could’ve ended with Victoria’s army but no, you couldn’t have waited for her to be turned to have sex.”  Jasper forces himself to be still, not to spring at the other and start biting him to get him to understand the consequences of his actions.  His feet shift despite his best efforts, transferring weight to make for an easier leap.  “None of us are safe now.  I don’t even believe Aro will leave us alone when Nes has grown up.  I’m really starting to believe they’re working together which is bad news for everyone.”

           it’s  late  and  he  has  become  her  last  and  only  resort.   they  weren’t  the  best  of  friends  but  knew  each  other  well  enough  for  her  to  end  up  at  his  doorstep  after  another  argument  with  her  parents  over  different  views.   she  only  hoped  unlike  her  other  friends  he  would  be  more  welcoming  in  her  time  of  need.

           inhaling  deeply,   she  squeezes  the  strap  of  her  backpack  with  one  hand  and  balls  up  the  other  to  finally  knock  on  the  door.    ‘  please  be  home. ’      she  whispers  to  herself  as  she  patiently  waits  for  someone  to  answer.                                                                                            @battlehymnns​

“Okay so-not that I’m the one that majored in engineering, but it’s the same premise as an actual gun.  All we really need to do is reinforce...everything so it doesn’t break when handled or when it fires.”  He should not be this excited to shoot family members with rocks, but he is.  “I think the real issue is gonna be finding rocks about the right size.  We’ll have to paint them of course.”   Jasper already has seven paintball guns, pulled very quickly out of his closet.  And he’s started gathering rocks.  He’s prepared.  “What we could do is basically rebuild the whole thing with metal because I’ve tried and plastic breaks very very easily.  Might have to recruit Rose.  It shouldn’t be that hard.”

“Em, that’s-that’s not how any of this works.”  While he’s sure they still produce adrenaline and all other hormones, he’s a little skeptical that they react to it the same like when they were human.  “I don’t think Carlisle is gonna accept adrenaline rush as an excuse for why there’s a hole in the wall!”  Jasper gestures frantically at the giant gap revealing drywall.  “What did you even do?  How?...Why didn’t you involve me?”
