Building my game table pt. 2 Just finished up, and I’m very happy with the result! The long term goal is to trim the sides to create a panel retaining edge, and just generally fancy it up a bit. The cutouts were from the original table, and were meant to reduce the weight of the table. Added bonus of potential subterranean set-ups! It usually has a Realm of Battle board on it, so the cutouts don’t affect the playing service. Mats by Mars was in the house with all manner of battle mats for many varieties of games. The mats are American made and can be made to order in any size. Unlike earlier versions of vinyl mats, these are resilient and return to flat shape should they get folded or wadded up. They also make overlays. The store is in St. Louis and we have Alex Parson and Carrie Bradfield showing off the demo mats. Games that have standard deployment zones like Kings of War, 40K and Age of Sigmar, can have them as well. They are subtle and do not detract from the beauty of the mats.
