❛ a — ❜   the audible sound is cut SHORT from being anything noteworthy . he does not know what to say nor does he HAVE any idea how to respond . save for a few DISCERNIBLE yet incoherent sounds & breaths , cloud is speechless . 

brow furrows from a multitude of things . he’s confused , though PERPLEXED , by the notion . embarrassed , naturally , as well . prompto is infuriatingly determined , that is for sure . but , in a way , it’s ABSOLUTELY endearing & , well , captivating . it’s ... cute . he’s cute . wait . does he really think that ? he supposes that he does .  

oh ! how he feels about him ! but , there’s a lot of different things that he feels , actually .

which is most likely WHY cloud gives the other such a strange look . ( can’t help but to feel a FLURRY of different emotions about him ! ) but ... if that is what the other male wants ...

the mercenary is not always the best at initiating things . & to ask him for such a thing could POTENTIALLY result in rejection . actually ? if it were other circumstances , he WOULD have . cloud would have said no . shortened it up to a ‘ not interested ’ despite it being an absolute lie . simply because that is just who he is . socially AWKWARD is what he is . & he has no idea what to do in these situations . but its also because he just is so unused to the such POSITIVE affection & attention . well .. okay , perhaps that is not ENTIRELY correct , but ... ah , that doesn’t matter .

but this is simply part of the game , right ? just some SILLY old tradition . okay , MAYBE , he’s also using his typical ‘ prompto ’ HUMOUR to say something witty . were those lyrics to a song ? it MUST be . it seems like it anyway . but ... the thing that cloud can recognise very well is the mistletoe . he knows THAT tradition well enough .

that is why he doesn’t say no . THAT is why he doesn’t scoff & turn around . sure , he GIVES - GAVE - him a strange look , at first , but ... who is he to keep the other from such a classic & old tradition ?

the only thing he HATES about this situation is that ... they aren’t alone . at the very least , this was FAR from anywhere private . prompto made the playful joke in public , while they were decorating , with the others . he probably EXPECTED him to say no .

& what if he didn’t want to say no ? 

thus , cloud merely leans forward to OBLIGE the request . one can most likely ascertain that he is BEYOND embarrassed at this point . cheeks aren’t simply a rosy hue . cloud is INCREDIBLY red - faced . & extremely nervous . well , if it’s a fast one , then maybe ... the others won’t notice ? ( that’s funny ) but , still . would much rather just get this done and over with .
