baxen is very intelligent and capable but he's also kinda clumsy and inexperienced and bad at words (probably talks faster than he thinks) which makes him look and sound like an idiot

also he knows how ships work but he's never driven one so when he does get the chance he pretty much instantly crashes it but not before fucking up the dimensional stabilizer leaving him tiny for a while because i need my cute micro fix in everything apparently

with both eyelids that's an effect that'll only be really effective in animation because you'd only very quickly see it when he blinks unless he goes out of his way to only close his inner eyelids
