This is a Bayer aspirin bottle from a Japanese Internment camp in operation during WWII. We've found a pretty wide range of over the counter medicine bottles. This is important because it can tell us about aspects of the lives of the people being held in the camp that may not have been included in written records of the time.

It should be understood that access to basic medical care is a human right that was frequently denied to people of Japanese descent by the American government, and that the presence of medicine bottles does not equal medical care.
