Baylander Kids Programming 125th street!

Kids Programming aboard the Baylander Date: Friday, February 24th Time: 9 am - 4 pm Location: The Baylander IX-514 (125th St./Hudson River) The Baylander will host a handful of activities for kids to enjoy while they are off from school. 9 am & 11 am- Live Dive with Salvage Diver, Zdenek Uman Come aboard the Baylander to check out what goes into a real Live Dive. "Zee," a professional scuba diver with more than 30 years experience, will tell stories about recovering parts of ships from the deep seas and tales from his expeditions under water. He will show his audience his diving equipment as he prepares to hit the water. We will explain how all of it works and pass around pieces for the kids to check out and try on. Zee will dive into the Hudson River and show off what he found on this excursion. We will have a touch tank filled with clams, oysters, lobsters and other sea creatures that the kids can touch and examine. 10 am- NYPD Safety Presentation Members of NY's finest will be on board with a personal safety presentation to equip children with important information to keep themselves and others safe. 11 am- Fire Safety with the FDNY Members of NY's Bravest will come aboard to teach children about fire safety precautions. This will cover fire prevention, smoke detectors, what to do in an emergency and the different escape techniques for different types of NYC buildings. We will be open the rest of the afternoon (until 4 pm) offering free tours to anyone who wants to check out the Baylander!
