im just getting into mtg and i was wondering, what's a cube? is it a format for making decks

cube is a format like drafting

i’m not sure if you know about drafting but it’s basically get a group of 8 people, open  booster packs from one set (like battle for zendikar) and pass them around a circle picking 1 card at a time to make a deck, a cube is a set of cards designed to be drafted made by someone and not wotc. like, regular draft is picking cards from new booster packs to make decks, cube draft is picking cards from 15 card “booster packs” made out of a random 15 cards from a large set of cards designed for drafting together!

sorry if this explanation is rambly or doesn’t make sense but if you ever have the opportunity to draft a cube i highly recommend it, it’s my favourite format of magic to play and honestly it is the format that has taught me the most about how to play magic at a higher level and all the small cool interactions between cards that are in the game.

ahh that’s a cool coincidence!! i don’t know entirely too much about film techniques and such so that vid really helped when i was writing my paper on Paprika, hehe. \o/
