Liz + Vanya Hargreeves
Happy birthday @fairylightsandthings!! You are the sweetest, nicest flower gal and I hope you have an absolutely fantastic day + rest of the year!!! I LOVE YOU SO VERY MUCH!!! 💝🎂💝
When there was nothing but sadness in the world, you found each other. It was such a rainy, miserable day when your eyes first met hers. You didn’t know it then, but a year later, you would be snuggled into her arms in her apartment, watching the sun set out the window. You didn’t know that every morning when you woke up, she would greet you with that now-familiar shy smile and a kiss on the cheek. You would listen to her practice while you ate breakfast, smiling whenever you caught one another’s eyes.
Life with Vanya was quiet, peaceful, steeped in routine and small gestures. She would often come home with a handful of your favourite flowers, you would make sure she had something to eat before she ran out the door to her class. You knew how to read her moods, just as surely as she knew how to read yours. Whenever she was feeling extra ordinary, you would take her face in your hands, look her in the eye and remind her how special she was. Whenever you fell back into a dark place, she would wrap you up in a blanket and sit with you, read to you, hold you, or coax you out for a walk if it was a nice day. Late night tears were brushed away with kisses and warm hugs.
You had fun together, too. She seemed so ashamed of it, sometimes, her father’s strictness coming back to haunt her, but you would pull her out of it. Dancing in your socks, encouraging her to do whatever she wanted, follow her dreams. You sat with her when she was writing her book, writing, yourself, stopping to hold her hand when she needed you to. She was always so fascinated by your words, your characters, the different worlds inside your head; she could listen to you talk for hours at a time, stopping only for her many curious questions.
Occasionally, she would press little kisses on your cheek, your forehead, the tip of your nose, smile softly and say “I don’t know what I did to deserve you.” That was kind of ridiculous to you, since that was exactly how you felt about her.
