Gorgeous.
Very dark, but gorgeous.
View from the river. With nearby pastures and forests, it seems like a lovely place to settle. It’s upriver from the coast so getting materials from the quarry or the ship is a trek, but the protection from the sea during stormy weather makes it worth it--and there’s easy access to the river via boat, making transporting supplies from the ship feasible.
So of course, the game crashed as I was saving the base camp and I had to redo it. I actually like it better this way--there’s even a tent for the doctor!
At the bottom is a lot for when they’re more established and have found a proper place to begin settling. It’ll be at a different location than this tiny spit of land connected to the mainland, I just got impatient and wanted to build. Can’t imagine it’d be good to keep livestock on the ship for longer than necessary.
Messing with reshade on a foggy night.
One whole summer and at least 60 units of stone later...
After some exploration to the nearest high point visible from camp, they discovered a gorgeous view of the valley! 1. No dragons mentioned in legend, and 2. a rock quarry.
The next day the scouting party returned to erect a small shack so they could start gathering resources without exhausting themselves in the summer heat.
