The Fred Tomlinson Singers provided a number of memorable musical interludes for the Pythons. My favorite was The Money Programme (1972.)
Ghosts - The Brilliant sitcom, well worth watching, and reading the companion book.

I've just watched the first 3 episodes of 'Goodnight Sweetheart' (1993 BBC TV series). I've seen some episodes before but now I'm watching it through.
Y'all should watch it, it's about a TV repair man (like what's that in 2020???) Who discovers a passageway to 1940. It's a brilliant time travel sitcom!

The Power of Comedy
The BBC recently celebrated its rich history of comedy production by reviving some of its landmark titles on BBC1. Would they have stood the test of time? Has TV comedy really changed that much?
"Are You Being Served?" aired at 9pm on a Sunday, and was set in the 1980s with the original characters played by new stars, but with the original style of double-entendres-laden dialogue and camp fun. While this may have appeared very dated in some ways, the new show, penned by Derren Litten, has actually proved to be the most popular of the revivals, with a consolidated audience total of 6.3m (24.7%). This put it slightly ahead of the updated "Porridge", which followed on the same night at 9.30pm.
This rejuvenated version of the classic prison comedy, which originally starred Ronnie Barker as Fletch, featured Kevin Bishop as that character's grandson, now banged up for cyber crime. Fulton Mackay's ever-suspicious "screw", Mr Mackay, was replaced by Mark Bonnar's similarly Scottish Officer Meekie. This show, with a script by original writers Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais, drew 5.4m (21.9%).
At 9pm on Friday 2nd September, "Goodnight Sweetheart", about an accidental time traveller, saw Nicholas Lyndhurst reprising his original character, Gary Sparrow. The tale caught up with him, still trapped in the past, but settled with his wife and son, but then catapulted into the present day, where he is now a fish out of water. The good-natured underdog comedy garnered an audience of 4.7m (21.3%).
"Young Hyacinth" followed immediately after "Goodnight Sweetheart" at 9.30pm and, rather than updating the original "Keeping up Appearances", provided a look at the origins of the character at the heart of that programme, in her youth in the 1950s. This attracted 4.1m (18.8%).
These audiences made the four revivals the most-viewed BBC comedies in August and to date in September.
There were also remakes of some original scripts of classic comedies aired on BBC4. These included 'Til Death Us Do Part, Steptoe and Son, and Hancock's Half Hour, all with new casts. All fo these attracted audiences in excess of 500,000, a decent performance for the channel.
All this does show the enduring value of sitcom, if you manage to get it right.
