Book #50: The Alchemist

This book!!! So I got roped into working on New Years Eve...gross...anyways, I grabbed this book to take with me because I knew it would be dead. Seriously! Who works out on New Years Eve?! I was right, there was like no one there, so I got a really good chunk of this book read.  It was a really easy read, and it was really good! I really enjoyed it! I strongly believe in fate/destiny and that is the whole theme of this book! An old King tells the main character Santiago “When you really want something to happen, the whole universe will conspire so that your wish comes true.” Everything worked out for this kid! It’s true, the treasure he went searching for ended up being hidden where the story began, but his journey is totally worth the read! READ IT!!

Book #49: Catch 22

I have never been more frustrated with a book before. After 3 false starts and 9 months of pained reading with lots of time outs, I have finally finished! Which brings me to the half way point of my list! Lets get a drink!

This book style was not really my thing, it has multiple narrators telling the same thing from different points of view. Which is fine, except that is wasn't in chronological order. It jumped all over the place, the same scenario would re appear 3 or 4 chapters later and I would be like "WTF we're back here again!?" So I had to figure that shit out myself. I'm still not convinced that I got it right. Because of this I had a hell of a time trying to figure out the point....The only thing I know for sure is that Colonel Cathcart is a giant dick! This whole book experience just wasn't enjoyable! However it did get better after chapter 35, sort of.

Book #48 The Count Of Monte Cristo

First thing's first...I'm the realest...I seriously can't say that without going full Iggy, it's a problem I have. First, this book took me WAY longer to read than it should have! I recently moved out of my parents house into my very own tiny ass house 6 blocks away. And at some point during my relocating I misplaced the book. I would have finished this book in May 2015, I was 3/4 of the way through when it went into hiding and it was missing for 7 Months! DECEMBER 23! My Mom informed me that it has been hanging out in my old room THE WHOLE TIME!!!!! So while I searched I read the Percy Jackson series again, The Princess Bride and The Mortal Instruments,

 I LOVED this book!  I was so excited to read this, and I was not disappointed! I saw the movie forever ago and I remember really liking it. But for the life of me I can't remember what happens. This book is amazing! There are a lot of characters and I did get a little confused sometimes, but they so kindly included a list of all the characters with little description in the front of the book. Thank goodness for that!!

Book # 40: Nineteen Eighty-Four

The whole "Big Brother" concept in this book really weirded me out. I don't know if I could handle knowing that someone was watching/listening to me all the time. It also made me a little angry at how they can just erase history, and no one really questions it! When you do question it the kidnap you and torture you until you're ready to say the 2+2=5 and be completely convinced that it's true! I was really enjoying this book...until page 191. When Winston started reading "The Book" for 32 pages it was hard for me to keep my eyes open. I started wondering "Is this stuff really important? Can I skip over it and not feel like I missed something?" Turns out I could have skipped over that whole chapter! So If you decide to read this book, feel free to ignore chapter 9 in part 2!

Book #39 Memoirs Of A Geisha

The first half of this book made me very sad.  But then things started to look up for Little Chiyo, and I started thinking to myself that this book might have the happy ending that I always look for...Then chapter 33 happened, and all I was thinking while reading it was "no no no no no no NOOOOOOOO!!!" What the hell!? Ya I get you don't want to by stuck with Mr Lizard as your danna, but really you were just setting yourself up for the worst possible outcome! BUT WAIT!!  A surprise happy ending!? Nope, just a surprise happy chapter and a merp ending!

In all honestly this really was a good book, and I would definately recommend reading it!

Book #29 A Tale of Two Cities

More like A Tale of Two Shitties! It took me 3 attempts to read this book! I only made it through, because I took it with me on vacation and didn't bring any other options!

There is a Jenna Marbles video for everything, and this is absolutly what happends when I try to sleep!
