I’m still obsessed with Cardioglossae and I was researching to see if anyone knew more about the fingers… and I found this singular source (Blackburn 2009) saying they were vibrating their fingers on each other’s backs?? What possible purpose could this have in combat 😭

Today’s image is a submission by @bbfroglove. The subject of this picture is an American toad Anaxyrus americanus. It’s that time of year again (if you’re in the northern hemisphere) where every toad is meeting up at the pond to scream. this is presumably what our little man in question there to do.
