First letter back home
Dear Folks in BBH Singapore Sorry it took us so long to write. I hope this electronic mail finds you well. As it turns out, moving to a different city is no piece of cake. It's the whole bloody cake. Just to let you know, we're alive and kicking, 3 musketeers far from home living together in a 6month-old apartment building.
Wailing because we miss hot cheap lunches, are spent having to pile on layers and constantly battling the London sky's weak bladder - dribble dribble boil and trouble.
Most importantly, we discovered that setting up the broadband at home takes forever, plus the apartment has no mobile signal. Furthermore, we just received our first Council Tax bill yesterday - what sorcery is this!
BBH London is a different ball game with different rules we have found. It's massive in all sense of the word but amazing at the same time. And unlike back home where we can walk up to any one of you casually, one would need a map, compass and a PA to navigate the jungle. But the essence of the agency is very much the same. The people have team spirit and same drive to always make better work - cue BlackSheep rhetoric.
We're very excited to slowly get into the flow of things. Predominantly, Eileen is on Johnnie Walker, Kee on Audi and I am on Axe - Drunkard, Gear-head, Body-odour. Good job casting crew.
It's an exciting time for us to be here with the BBH transformation on-going and to experience it first hand with agency-training. We also begin to feel how much respect & rigour (and perhaps even reverence) the industry and the planning discipline has over here. Much to learn. The competitive spirit is apparent and hopefully that won't eat us alive.
I won't blabber on since there's miles to go before we sleep but we wish you a good week ahead and will write again soon.
With fondest memories
Jeremy
