... and i'm a Planner. It's been 10 months since I've joined the BBH and therefore 10 months since I have been sober.
I just found a bit of breathing space post-dinner and bedtime to write this post. It's been a crazy few weeks at the office and of course I have to book a vacation smack in the middle of it all. Smart.
I gripe and I moan but you know what, when I step out of the tube at Bond Street every morning, it hits me in the most unexpected of moments that I am in London. BAM! Spiritual Concussion.
Earphones, check, Spotify, check, getting my Dolce & Gabbanna walk on, check. Nothing could be better than marching down Oxford Street every morning with purpose, ready to take on the day in BBH's office right in the vibrant milieu that is Soho.
Here's my story in brief:
Ever since I was a little (often precocious & fussy) boy, I wanted to be a lawyer. People paying you to think, craft arguments and solve problems, what could be better? But as you know, it takes straight As during the A-levels to get into law, so that did not turn out so well.
Funny how life turns out and I might sound bitter saying this, but I am glad destiny pushed me towards another direction. I still have tremendous respect for the practice of the law but I think I have found another avenue to apply strategic thought and in an industry that holds creativity on a pedestal; strategic planning in advertising.
An internship with BBH Singapore opened up my foray into planning and that further led me to this strategy training programme. Not a moment of regret ever since! But speak to me again when I'm going through piles of research at 9pm at night - might solicit a different response.

It's a massive office. Different reports of headcount but it's mostly between 300-400 people, so they say. It feels like 632 to me.
On a more personal level, I love travel and anything on a beach. London is great for the former but a little restrictive on the latter. I am also a semi-professional singer (a cappella my main craft, soul and R&B my jam) and miss the stage very much.
A gratuitous #selfie before I leave you with a few of my fundamental beliefs.

Gin & Tonic is the cure for a dreary day
The gym is an equal, if not better, cure for a dreary day
Sleep is underrated; you don't get enough in advertising
Fitness is a lifestyle choice.
Fun is what you make of it; no one can tell you otherwise.
Love what you do and you still work every weekday/end of your life, but at least you love it.
