CLOUD SURVEY // TONDO The Tondo starting with me investigating and observing the horizon line — its placement determines where we seem to be looking from a high place, or from close to the ground. With this in mind I set my viewer at the oceans tide line, and or at a rocky beach shelf; portraying a grounded experience while in view of the ocean. From the horizon line, my development of the Tondo has lead me into my exploration of cloud formations, in particular, clouds that form over our ocean. With clouds, my paintings can become one of repetition, it's this recurrence of an action or event over an ocean that I am most interested in, portraying and developing. — My largest Tondo to date pictured and titled: 'Cloud Two (Mid North Coast) Tondo' will make its way to its new home on the Sunshine Coast this week — a wedding gift for newlyweds, Peter and Hayley Hamlet. An installation pic of my CLOUD SURVEY that I showed alongside other artists; interstate and abroad with the BBSF Art Exhibition titled 'Surf Culture Now'. #byronbaysurffestival #BBSF2017 #HeyTate
