Looking for volunteers now and soon.
- Now: This Saturday we'll be in LOTR but we'll be promoting the renfest in the lobby of the theatre in New West. It seems that some of our folks are ill and it may only be three of us that day (approx. 11:30 am to approx 5pm). We would like to have a few more. Even a wench could be LOTR. It's just setting up a table with two standards and a ton of last year's program books, handing them out and chatting about the renfest. Tanya set this up and she is one of the ones sick so she may not be there BUT we are supposed to get a free movie pass (to any movie - rules being not Hobbit or not Hobbit until the 'passes' restriction is released. ) for each volunteer. We won't need more then two, maybe three more.
- Soon. IF we are able to save the renfest from the wolves, we will be casting two new characters:
1. Larger woman. Pushy. Physical humour. Sort of the 'Cluck' (Robin Hood Disney) or Mud's Wife (Star Trek - Classic) of the village.
2. Charity's Uncle - There has been a few requests to bring this character from the first year back so we would like to do so but the actor who did play him in 2007, the last we spoke to him, has moved onto 'real jobs' and isn't acting anymore. We will be looking for someone who can play the character and be 'close enough' but we are not after his exact double. If you'd like to see the character from year one visit:

Suffice it to say Charity comes from her aunt's side of the family.
AAANNNNNDDDD… Never to early to come on board as a villager or a vendor or a stage performer or a volunteer or take a demonstrator's space.
We are right now deciding what parades we will be walking and we'd love to have GOOD size entries that represent all that we do. It would be incredible to have enough villagers and volunteers to man cameras for footage and photos for each parade as well as some Dr. Who, A furry or two (anyone out there fur the Disney Robin Hood? or a furry knight?), Steampunk, animals (Our petting zoo usually only does Langley Parades), 1700s navy/pirate, Fantasy (another fairy, mermaid - for when ocean can't - LOTR Elf and/or Dwarf, etc), Historical influence, reenactors…. Talking it over as a team we are also wiling to dress folks up in our other outfits for parades. We just need the bodies. Rule stands for ALL parades. If you volunteer for a parade you get a 50% off single ticket for the renfest.
