My first Discworld book was Men at Arms. My group in GCSE drama did that as our final play so obviously I had to read the book. And yes the play was terribly done by us but it started my love of Pratchett. I still remember some of the lines and can swear my allegiance to the Watch at a drop of a hat. "I comma square bracket recruit's name square bracket comma..."
oh my gosh the PLAYS I forgot about the plays too! I’ve never actually seen one, or read the script or anything, but it’s definitely on my list of things I want to do. Being able to swear allegiance to the Watch at will is important; if Sam Vimes ever drops into Roundworld and needs to recruit special constables you’ll be ready to go
