halloween just around the corner, tensions were high in the town of haddonfield, illinois. tales of michael ( the boogeyman ! ) had reached near MYTHICAL proportions in the small town with not much else to do. the amount of people that DONNED white masks sent chills down jamie’s spine. michael’s face was one jamie could NEVER forget, a face that often showed up in her nightmares. it was a BURDEN only jamie alone could bear, one that no one beside she herself could relate to. michael’s HORRORS he’d committed against humanity often felt like jamie’s own. the blood on michael’s hands had left jamie STAINED. the fear of becoming like HIM one she was unable to shake, and one she’d never been able to VOICE to anyone. especially not to her mother of all people.
years PASSED left the relationship strained between mother and daughter. the wounds so deep that they could not be MENDED. nothing between the two had been the same since the car accident that left jamie in the care of the carruthers when she was ONLY a child. a daughter ABANDONED, a daughter raised on lies. only once she was sixteen did jamie learn the TRUTH of it all. her mother had left her by CHOICE and no amount of trying to justify it or explain her reasoning would make up for the years jamie spent missing the woman. nights shedding tears over a photograph of a woman who wanted NOTHING to do with her. sixteen years worth of her life WASTED mourning a mother that ( in her eyes ) had not loved her. anger and PAIN aside, jamie couldn’t NOT visit when this time of year rolled around ––– to check in if nothing else. despite all, she CARED far more than she liked to admit. doorbell rang, eyes are focused upon feet while she waits for estranged mother to answer.
