“i’m new,” chrissy says with a one-shouldered shrug as she awkwardly looks around the group. she could say the same for him, really. the byers boys and their mother she knew at least in name, and the former ( supposedly dead ) chief of police she knew the face of well, too. that must’ve meant he was that other guy steve had mentioned in his rundown of the people involved in the whole mess — the eccentric one, in his words. “chrissy cunningham, sir.”

It's good to be back in Hawkins, even if everything has gone to shit. There's at least the certain familiarity to everything that feels comfortable, even if so many awful things have happened here. But at least they're all together, and Hopper is alive and back and he can only presume that that was the result of his mom's 'conference' in Alaska.
It's still rather funny to him that Murray was there.
Then again, it makes sense. After Starcourt, after he and Nancy had enlisted Murray's help back with regards to the lab, he'd sort of become one of their little ragtag group dealing with all this shit. And he's grateful that his mom hadn't just run off to get Hopper alone.
He's sitting on the porch when he hears the approaching footsteps, and looking up, he nods, "Hey."

How had it come to this? Everyone had been so certain they’d come out of this the other side as winners, but somehow... somehow Vecna had gotten what he’d wanted. Did this mean she wasn’t cursed any longer? Or was she still a target and couldn’t let her guard down? There was no way she could share her worries while everyone was having a moment of happiness and reunion. It was great to see Hopper was alive and that everyone was together again... so why did she feel like an outsider?
Kicking at the leaves on the ground Chrissy tried to stay out of everyone’s way, not wanting to intrude on the special moment everyone was sharing around her. Though chancing an upwards glance she spotted a man that looked a little unkempt and like he wasn’t very much into all the hugging that was taking place. In that moment, the older man felt like a kindred spirit.
Pursing her lips and trying her best not to look like a deer caught in headlights, Chrissy made her way over to the other current side-liner and extended her hand and with the biggest, fakest smile she could muster, introduced herself.
“Hey there, I thought I’d get introductions out of the way. I’m Chrissy, Chrissy Cunningham, it’s a pleasure to meet you, sir!”

♡ *:・ 𝒞.𝒞. *:・♡ How long had she been there, Chrissy wondered? There was no way for her to tell if time passed in the Upside Down the same way that she was used to. Frankly, she really hadn’t a clue where she was or that it even had a name! He main priority had been hiding from her vile attacker! It hadn’t been easy, especially with those bat-like creatures flitting about!
As she ran down the crumbling sidewalk, leaping over the vine-like foliage, Chrissy hid behind the cracked wall of the nearest building, jumping from location to location in an attempt to remain unseen. One of the winged beasts flew overtop and she panicked, wondering if she’d been located-- but, no. It kept moving. It’s movements spoke that it was clearly searching for something, or someone. Could they still be actively seeking her out? Ugh, this guy never quit! She just wanted to go home! Well, maybe not home, but out of wherever she was trapped!
Yet, when she turned the corner and spotted what looked to be another humanoid figured, she froze. Fear filled her senses... then she realized this person didn’t look like one of the monsters of the dark ambience that surrounded them. Was this who those creatures were hunting?
She had to help him...!
“Hey!” she whispered, quietly, but with intent. Darting from her hiding place, she rushed over to him. “Come on! You can’t be here. Come with me, I know somewhere safer, but you have to hurry, before that thing circles back.”
She spotted a pair of glasses on the ground and picked them up. Wiping the lenses clean with the hem of her skirt, she handed them to the unknown man. “Are these yours? You definitely don’t want to lose these here...”
@bcldecgle sent a thing: ❛ we wouldn’t be alive if it weren’t for me. ❜ (Jonathan)
Jonathan looked over at where his mother and Hopper were still hugging El and the others before looking back at Murray. When they’d first met, Jonathan found Murray a little weird, maybe that was an understatement, but he wasn’t one to talk or judge cause he’d been labeled a freak his whole life too. “Thank you, Murray.” he told the man sincerely, “Thank you for looking out for my mom and bringing her back home safely.”
@bcldecgle // plotted starter w/ karolina dean
as karolina stood behind the large post she did her best to stay still. she could feel herself panicking a bit. years away from the lab and suddenly she felt like it had come back to haunt her again. at least that’s what she thought when she had overheard someone talking about it. those words alone had made her run and she hadn’t stopped until a few minutes ago. she had no idea if anyone had actually followed her, but her instincts told her to stay put.
