Finally! Brook had been watching the group from afar for well over an hour, pretending to be doing nothing in particular - a normal activity in a place where everything fun was considered contraband and confiscated -, in hopes she’d get a single minute to talk to the head of C-Block without Badison breathing down her neck. And, now, said inmate had finally walked away with the two other women who seemed to play cards 24h a day. That was her chance.
Taking a deep breath, Brook made her way towards the table Carol sat at, forcing a big smile on her face. It’s just like asking for signatures on a petition, she thought, just... be polite, state your cause, recite your arguments and be convincing.
“Excuse me, do you have a second?” She didn’t smile much these days, and her previously familiar expression of ‘please join my cause’ felt unnatural. “My name’s Soso, I just came down from camp a couple weeks ago...” She reached out a hand. “I actually have some ideas that could really improve the quality of life of C-block, and, seeing as you are the one in charge, I was hoping you would like to hear them?”

She’s done well to mind her own business since the transfer, made easier with her placement in B block. With her quiet nature, few outside of those who she knew from minimum had even spoken to Norma, and frankly, the woman was not about to complain about that. Of course, she has heard all about Carol. Which is why the look she gives the other inmate is one intended to communicate something along the lines of, ‘I don’t know what the hell you’re planning --- but leave my friends out of it.’ ... as much as one look CAN.
@bclltrue ; starter call !
“So, you doin’ anything this Halloween?” Roxanne lifts the red Solo cup to her lips and takes a prolonged sip. She gently sways to the music, emerald orbs reflecting the bonfire pit.
