Her mother was young when she moved to the United States. Originally hailing from a long line of Pureblood royalty in Wales. Her mother was head girl and excelled in every subject in Hogwarts since she had arrived. But upon graduation, her mother left behind her Ravenclaw robes and left for America. Which was where she met her father; River, who happened to be a muggle. They were young and in love from the moment they met. Marrying as soon as they could and it didn't take long for them to conceive Star. Of course, they decided to raise her in the states and once she was old enough Star was accepted into Ilvermorny School of Wtchcraft and Wizardy. Here was where her mother thought she would be just like her. Only a Horned Serpent instead of Ravenclaw. After all, she had trained Star on magic since she was very young.
When Star was only three, she began showing signs of magic. Which was all very hush hush in the United States. Moon tried her hardest to keep her daughter's magic concealed and hidden. But Star was too powerful and her magic would cause outbursts throughout her childhood. Upon being accepted in Ilvermorny, it was thought that she would be just like her mother and finally excel in every subject. But she was quite the opposite. Star struggled in her studies that involved her wand and actual magic making. Only really excelling in the areas that she could use her hands and be physical with. Potions being her number one subject. While her father was proud of her no matter what she did, her mother refused to speak to her very often and often referred to her as a mistake, a hiccup and a failure.
While most children this would crush, it only served to push Star even harder in her studies. Wanting to finally prove her mother wrong and make her proud. Which was why she entered into the Magical Melee. Once she was chosen as champion it was over from there. Now was her time to shine. And shine she would.
