Positively Primeval *** [Belle & Gaston]
Belle was currently in the middle of trying to sort out a packaging mishap with the Post Office. It was not going well and after a series of non-answers, she said a curt but polite goodbye before disconnecting. She sighed heavily. Of course she was going to have to go to the Post Office tomorrow. She reached across the counter to add it to her list of things to do the next day. She winced slightly as the sleeve of her shirt rubbed against the still-healing burn on her arm.
Scribbling “pick up from post office orders #435672 and #435675″ Belle dropped the pen before rubbing her temples in exhaustion. Both her unplanned trips to Adam’s out-of-the-way abode had her swamped with backed up invoices and incoming packages. At least she had only been gone for a day--this time. And at least, it was never happening again. Just the thought of him caused her heart to constrict. How could she have let herself be so stupid?
Trying to shake the annoyance from her bones, Belle slipped off the stool she had been huddled on--her skirt fanning out behind her as she walked briskly to the other side of the counter. Opening a box of books with a little more force than was probably necessary, she grabbed an armful before turning around--her eyes scanning a place for the new items to go.
All the mismatched tables in the shop were packed full. Books were stacked against the walls, in between bookshelves. They wrapped around the edges of tables and leaned against the legs of chairs. In an organized chaos that only Belle could ever really manage to navigate. Sweeping gracefully through the maze of books--she happened upon a potential spot and began to rearrange the small table so as to fit the newest additions.
