Be Forewarned, Dear Reader | Phinnip (BRRP)
Phineas Flynn was not the greatest at his job as a delivery boy. He tended to linger longer than necessary, making conversation with the general store’s clients and frequently forgetting (and then remembering halfway back to the shop) payment. It wasn’t that Phineas didn’t take his job seriously. It just didn’t come naturally to him to be prompt, conscientious, or brief in his interactions.
But he had one client whom he prioritized, and for whom Phineas was very careful not to disappoint: Lady Fipperhorn. Also known as Pip, the kitchen boy at Summerview Hall. Phineas knew that Pip’s operation was delicate and very important-- while the Queens’ declarations were important, what people really wanted was all the salacious gossip. That was what kept the Season alive. And while Phineas had absolutely no interest in the goings-on of the Season, he did understand the gravity of the situation with Lady Fipperhorn. And so Phineas approached his deliveries of the weekly papers to the printing press with much more care than his general store deliveries.
Except... well, he could have been more careful this week. People were already starting to whisper about who Lady Fipperhorn could be, and so Phineas really should have gone a different way tonight, but he didn’t. And that was how he ended up where he was now: running through the streets of London, a royal guard chasing him as he ran down every dark alleyway and through every hidden street until he lost the guard.
It was a good thing being a delivery boy meant learning the streets of London so intimately. But now he had to face Pip.
By the time Phineas made it back to Summerview Hall, his face was bright pink and he was out of breath, but still clutching the papers tightly. He entered through the back of the kitchen, where deliveries normally went. “Er, Pip?” Phineas said nervously. “There’s... been a problem.”
