Do you think we can look forward to The Quintessence wreaking havoc when they go to Earth in season seven of Space Runaway Voltron with the citizens of Earth chasing them away for bringing war back with them?

If S7 dove into Space Runaway Ideon territory with “The Quintessence” then I would hail the writers and show-runners as god tier brilliant and All Would Be Redeemed.

Lotor’s “The end is near…” line to Honerva definitely hints at something on a Higher Order Scale (for lack of a better phrase), and the destruction of the trans-reality gate combined with rejecting Lotor’s plans for peace via unlimited quintessence takes us right into the Point of No Return in Ideon (if viewed as the universe’s last chance for survival). Voltron’s attack on Lotor, and leaving him in the Quintessence Field could be an action that “invokes The Quintessence.”

If VLD were going to take the Ideon ending route, then the end has already happened and there is no hope left. Once The Quintessence is invoked, there would be one more moment (sacrificial death probably) that would be the final invocation that unleashes infinite power—and in the VLD setting—collapsing all realities into one and all are reborn wiser and kinder.

So who’s death would “invoke” The Quintessence? Was Lotor the messiah baby (e.g. Karala’s baby in Ideon)? Or did Allura and Lotor…?
