Sometimes I feel like there should be more monster preds. Not humanoid somethings, not nagas/taurs/mers where part of the body is humanoid. I think it would be cool if there were more preds that had the sentience and ability to consent of a human, but were much more clearly non-humanoid. I'd especially like to see this more in safe vore.

There could be an actual blob or pool of slime, instead of a slime that takes a humanoid shape, wanting to fully wrap itself around the prey. Or maybe a mimic that looks like a storage item, and it pulls you into it until you accept that it wants you to sleep. Why not even a story about some ancient kraken or powerful dragon that just wants to be close to its favorite prey.

There's more potential for fearplay here, too. When something looks at least partially like a human, there might be an instinctual desire to trust. A hope that you can get through with reasoning. You don't have that assurance with a monster pred, all you can do is hope that you survive, and then get confused when you realize that it doesn't want to hurt you.
