The Turning Point
If a fellow muslim brother/sister came up to us and said that “Im so proud of myself, I managed to pray twice today.” or “Im really proud that I was able to fast a whole week during Ramadhan.” What would we think/respond with? Now, not all but some people would generally laugh and say “Twice? Twice out of five prayers and you’re proud of yourself?! I pray all five!”, “Ha, whats a week? I fast the whole 30 days without any problem.” Thats our flaw. So what if they only prayed twice? Maybe before they didn’t pray at all. Maybe if they pray twice a day for a week they’ll increase the amount of times they pray and eventually maybe they’ll pray all five? Maybe their two prayers a day are better than your five prayers a year? Maybe Allah (swt) chose their worship over yours? You see, our problem is when we see success smaller than ours, we mock. Fam, no amount of success is ever small. As cheesy as it sounds, small drops can make an ocean. That could be their turning point. Never mock someone’s personal success. Ever.
