Puck, trotting down the beach: They see me ridin', they hatin', protesting and tryna stop me from ridin' ponies.
Hi! So I normally try to read all of TSR in a day every November first but its a bit ambitious so I was thinking this year I would read it according to the timeline in the book. That being said, when do you think TSR starts?
Oh my! All in ONE day? I don’t know if my heart could handle that many FEELINGS at once, haha, so I’m super impressed!
I think the race season takes place over three weeks! The first week after the capaill uisce make land ends with the Scorpio Festival, and Puck states that it is “two weeks until the races” while she’s at the Festival. So I guess that would mean Puck and Finn’s race to the beach took place on October 10th.
(The timing of the season is confusing to me because if November first is always the day of the races, the capaill uisce would have to be consistently prompt and arrive on the same day every year, but I quibble!)
The very first @thescorpioracesfestival actually started on the first day of beach training and ended on race day! There was a read-a-long that year too, and I made a reading schedule that roughly corresponded to the events in the book, which you can find HERE! The dates aren’t set for The Scorpio Races Festival yet this year, but since it’ll probably overlap somewhat with the timeline of the book, feel free to join in the festivities at any point! :)
October 31st
It is tradition that the beach is off-limits for the horses the day before the race. I can't help but think this is because of superstition, although there are practical reasons as well. GIVE ME ALL THE HEADCANONS. GO!
