Hair. The boys' hair. A running theme this summer - between comments received and disagreements about what 'brushed' hair should look like. My ode to their locks: Though I'm not the only one to love these locks, I fear we must face a solemn farewell to these lovely strands of light. School dress code requires us to deny the beauty you earned from the natural sun from salty coast days, and hard pool workouts. Forget that strangers commented on its beauty numerous times per week (with one going so far as to suggest you consider becoming a hair model). No doubt you've earned these 'stripes' of highlight love from the sun above. Yet, we know it won't last forever as evidence by your mother's hair that was once like yours and has since long lost its ability to soak in the sunlight love. Truly it is a reminder of youth; of adaptability; of real beauty that a change within can happen from love and warmth from high above. You are the heir to my hair. Love it while you have it. It will continue to change; but your light within will never stop glowing for all to see. #hairlove #highlighthairenvy #endofsummer #beachbumsforever
