neo's natural eye color is currently unknown. silver could be an illusion same as green and pink. my guess is pink/brown heterochromia is natural because it's what she reverts to after using an illusion but again, unknown. mercury's eyes are dark gray, probably intended to be black but the artists likely wanted to allow some distinction between iris and pupil

That’s what I mentioned, and someone else added, in my theory of Neo being one of the Silver-eyed Warriors. Her pink-brown eyes could be illusions to hide her true eye color. Notice when Neo encountered Raven, she was very afraid, and her eyes both turned silver. Neo might have been very afraid that her Semblance stopped working.

Also, it has been mentioned in Mercury’s Wiki that he does have gray eyes, and gray is a shade of silver. And as mentioned in my post, Ruby’s eyes now are much darker than they were in the 1st volume. The hue of her eyes are the same shade as Mercury’s, and if the characters still see Ruby as having silver eyes, then there’s a possibility that Mercury’s could be, too.

In BeaconTactics’ summary of AfterBuzz’s RWBY Volume 3, episodes 11+12 episode, they said:“It was interesting to see Kerry shaking his head at Miles to tell him not to mention something when the silver eyes theory got brought up. Neo and Mercury have silver eyes too…” 

They actually have a discussion on it in the episode (somewhere at 36:35), so go check that out if you feel like my observations are only mine. There are others who see that as well.

So you know how everyone thinks that Sun will be one of the key elements behind figuring out that what happened to Yang was an illusion, I was watching Volume 1′s cast commentary, and I just realized we had someone else see through the Blake’s bow ‘illusion,’ Penny.

This could have potentially big ramifications, especially if Penny tries to say what she saw, but with Cinder looking like she’ll take control, that’s gonna be potentially very dangerous for her, if she can do it at all. Most likely expect hiccoughs. That is, if the finalists were actually out there to see the fight at all...

Its also funny seeing Barbara shipping Ruby/Jaune jokingly, Ruby/Sun, liking Arkos as a Brotp (and the best example of a girl/guy friendship), and both her and Arryn having kind of crushes on Pyrrha. But again this was way back in Volume 1, so a lot has changed since then.
