Posting these here cause tumblr's the only place I know how to reach people online
I'm selling these quilt-inspired, handmade loom beaded bracelets on my etsy shop! designed and made by mineself :-)
✷Link To My Shop!✷
(I would also really appreciate you helping spread this around! I'm currently unemployed and I want to start selling more of my art :-) I've got a few different projects in the works, including some tapestries and prints!)
do I need more hobbies? no. did I buy beading supplies anyways? yes.
first attempt at beading (specifically loom beading) and I'm having a great time!
also nobody told me there would be weaving in ends. I literally cannot escape weaving in ends. IT'S JUST BEADS you think HOW COULD THERE BE ENDS well guess what it's strings on a loom and now you're weaving in ends like a SUCKER it's INESCAPABLE.
I can't explain how exciting it is to be able to see even the slightest bit of the image in this piece. Nobody can tell what it is except for me, but I've spent literal weeks on this design, performing edit after edit as I tested color after color, and now it's finally coming together. I can see it. This is so cool.
Currently on row 4 of 62.
Step 1: buy a $5 bead loom at Dollarama
Optional middle steps:
(Recommended) worry whether the made in China bead loom is cultural appropriation of First Nations art and heritage. Go down the Wikipedia rabbit hole of wampum, the Hiawatha Belt, the Six Nations flag, the Iroquois Nation (Haudenosaunee), etc. No clear answer, but a deep and abiding anger over colonization! Also everyone say thank you Haudenosaunee for the Three Sisters (corn beans and squash) and for lacrosse
(NOT recommended) Spill tiny beads fucking everywhere
Step ???: Raid the absent roommate's bead stash for a rainbow assortment of beads. Learn some Important Lessons about how bead size fucks up the tension. Hope that your solutions of how to deal with adding a new weft thread works out. Hemstitch the end, because I'm not fucking around with glue, that's dumb.
Step the last:
Happy trans day of visibility, I guess!
good luck charms
