Something wicked this way comes… (learned how to make kandi cuffs and other such things)
Looks like I somehow neglected to post this project from august! It was a fun design, nice little Celtic knot illusion work done in CRAW stitch to melt my brain a bit. Not sure what I’ll do with it yet, might make it into a necklace or just leave it as a flat fidget object. As always, it’s the first version of a given design (not that I didn’t copy the design from some Pinterest image, but I did end up having to draw my own diagram because the photo was so fuzzy) so it won’t go much farther than my studio. If I do ever make this a marketable object it’ll definitely be smaller, I think this would be a rather clunky necklace pendant. I guess I could call it a statement piece?
Here are progress shots:
The top pic (from the second group of pics) was my first aborted and destroyed attempt. I ran into the issue of using up the beads too fast and rather than finding somewhere to buy more beads of that color, I decided to redo it with each side being a different color and using a third accent color and also a fourth color that I hate and wanted to use up for the middle that no one would see. Turned out the middle and accent colors both were of such shitty quality that the color rubbed off before I was even done making the damn thing.
had to setup my desk to have a desktop computer so I can print a postage label...which also meant waiting for my keyboard and mouse to charge...so I used the new flat space to make something shiny and tumblr mutual coded:
Boy did I miss my beading supplies! Here’s my first experiment back home to get back into the groove. A CRAW cube!
If you really loved me you would let me loose in the beads section of the craft store.
an evening. soothing for the brain to sift and sort multipacks. bought some monofilament from the bait shop the other night, so the only thing left is to pixel art myself a pattern...
can't decide between
a landscape/scene/object
a pattern like an argyle or plaid
a geometric pattern like a sunburst or repeating concentric circles or something
bought a cute lil bead kit for $1, thought I would make a cute bookmark or something...
tried out a little curtain from the kit:
went from ooh, beads have been pretty on the timeline recently to I LOVE IT AND MUST HAVE A DELUXE VERSION...so I upgraded and expanded the materials from stash:
and now am deeply into Monet's Irises Phase vibes, with probably 80% of this still to go...
