I’m in the car all day again tomorrow, and THIS time I have a charger for my laptop, so there should be a lot more writing and a lot less gnashing of teeth and maybe a new chapter of Killer Combo if I have a decent connection. (Not to sound old, but man what an age we live in.)

Now’s a good time for any questions you’ve ever wanted to ask! I’ll find a good ask list to reblog for those who are more comfortable doing things that way.

And if your question is “what about Beautiful Dreams?” then 1) valid 2) it’s coming along now! As soon as the pieces I’m working on coalesce into a workable chapter you will know. I have hope that it will be soon. I have a couple more things I want to do and then I think it wiIl just be smoothing out the transitions.

bought a cute lil bead kit for $1, thought I would make a cute bookmark or something...

tried out a little curtain from the kit:

went from ooh, beads have been pretty on the timeline recently to I LOVE IT AND MUST HAVE A DELUXE VERSION...so I upgraded and expanded the materials from stash:

Extremely funny (but kinda understandable given the context) how the divide between religion and science is the most visible and focused upon relationship between the two in both recent history and the way we look at the past, even in the recent past when i was still in elementary school.

If you look look at all the pioneers of science you'll see a surprising amount that were very much religious people or people who were active clergy of some rank. What else where those monks supposed to do besides read scripture all day? This isn't even like a American mythologized medieval/ranaissance vision of Europe" exclusive thing. There's people from like the 19th and 20th centuries (so the 1800s and 1900s just to remind you because I forget that too sometimes) that very much also fit that bill.

The divide didn't NOT exist, obviously, but I feel like people's view of it isn't always complete.

In light of recent events (or is it, ‘in light of rehashed events that never really leave this fandom??) it would make sense for my last Being Black in Playhoices to tackle this subject. Especially since it also ties into another overarching subject I considered: Being (a) Black (Content Creator) in Playchoices....but...

Y’all I am SO tired. So, so, so tired. The whole point of that series was to bring something new to the table while addressing issues I keep seeing, but there is nothing more to say other than: 

stop whitewashing. 

be cognizant of what face claims you use for characters. 

if someone calls you out for not doing your due diligence, don’t get offended, get right!!

if you can’t find the appropriate face claim for a character maybe don’t make the edit/post/art at all...?

colorism is a thing. racism is a thing. if you don’t understand why, or understand the ramifications of the choices you make when you lighten (on purpose or accidentally) a character’s skin, open your mind and have a conversation with someone who is black (or is of the race in question and is open to having a dialogue) or pull up Google and educate yourself.
